“I am very happy with the opening and collaboration we have with Learn with Socrates. I think it is a great opportunity for the children of Tlaxcala, and as a state library, it’s really rewarding to be one of the first to take part in something like this on a national level.”
The Socrates platform has come to transform the way we teach and learn, and since we introduced it in our libraries, it has truly been a game-changer. We’re not just offering access to books; we’re also providing an interactive digital tool that enhances our mission of promoting reading. Technology is not our enemy; on the contrary, it is a key ally in this process. Socrates is designed to strengthen the love of reading in a fun and accessible way.
What I love most about Socrates is that it goes beyond being just an educational platform. It has a comprehensive approach, where children don’t just read—they interact with the platform in a dynamic way, answering questions, solving challenges, and learning in a playful manner. It’s amazing how engaged the children get, how excited they are to participate and come back each time they have the chance to interact with it. Many of them say things like, “I’m going to Socrates!” or “I want to keep learning more!”—which shows the tremendous impact it has on their motivation to learn.
Right now, we’re working with primary school children who come to our libraries to participate for a couple of hours, and what I like the most is seeing how they combine technology with traditional books. The feedback from parents has been very positive as well. It’s important to them that their children are not just sitting in front of a computer, but are also being supported by our team of librarians, who provide that personalized guidance that we all need. It’s truly a team effort: technology, books, and library staff, all working together to achieve the best results.
The Socrates platform isn’t just for school-aged children; it also has a big impact on those who haven’t had the opportunity to receive formal education. For us, as public libraries, it’s an honor to be an inclusive space where people of all ages can come to learn, whether it’s through traditional reading or with innovative digital tools like Socrates.
Additionally, the reactions from both parents and children when interacting with Socrates have been incredible. Not only are they learning, but they are also socializing with each other, engaging in healthy competition, and creating a sense of camaraderie in the library. Seeing how they help one another and reinforce what they’re learning is truly rewarding.
For me, the fact that Tlaxcala is actively participating with this platform fills me with pride. We’re the first state to partner with Socrates, and this also gives us a great opportunity to train our team. We’re not only learning how to use the platform, but also how to effectively integrate technology into our libraries, always with the goal of enriching the educational experience for our users.
Finally, my greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that we are providing a unique opportunity for the children of Tlaxcala—an opportunity that many don’t have, but that we are working hard to offer. Through this partnership with Socrates, we are not only fostering a love for reading, but we are also preparing our children for a future full of opportunities, with the tools they need to become excellent professionals.
I truly believe that we are building a new generation of learners, where libraries are centers of knowledge, technology, and innovation, and in this process, Socrates is a key piece in making that dream a reality.
